A tale of two cities…. Paris vs. New York has been an ongoing debate for some time. These two cities thrive on the romanticized version of who they are, and they have quite a bit in common: passionate citizens, a love of food, drink, fashion and film.

On September 10 Refinery 29 opened 29Rooms with a party hosted by Drew Barrymore, Alexa Chung, and Zoe Kravitz.  They kicked off New York Fashion Week at a warehouse in Brooklyn and offered guests the opportunity to experience total immersion of 29 rooms designed by artists, visionaries, and fashion icons.

Fashion designers took a page from the great novels when thinking of their fall 2012 looks.  Fortunately for us, we can take bits and pieces of the fur and damask from the Russian elite and the dripping jewels and glitz and glam of the roaring 20's and merge them to find our own decadent looks for fall.
