NYC x Design is full of inspiring and aspirational interior looks and many designers take their inspiration from the events of the day, pop culture, and the environment in which they live. Below is a break down of some of the reoccurring trends.

NYC x Design occurs every May, and has evolved over the years to be more than one weekend of the ICFF fair and Soho design store parties.  It is now a month long event which includes emerging and innovate design with multiple talks, parties, and openings.

Millennials are looking for authenticity in their entertainment and this filters into their vacation choices, lifestyle choices, and hobbies.  With activism on the rise, Millennials are looking towards purpose driven adventures that allow them to participate in a movement that they see as being beneficial to the community while socializing.

We all know the old adage "age is just a number" Power Boomers are teaching all of us a thing or two about owning your age and aging well. 

Sometimes when you travel to a new city,  you overwhelm yourself with making sure you experience everything it has to offer.  Other times you settle in, use the local bike rental system, and explore it with the laid-back sensibilities of a Canadian.  Montreal was a great city to roam around in and their Bixi City Bike rental made it incredibly easy to feel like a local.

The unicorn trend is not slowing down, and we are all in for it! Pastel rainbow hair, unicorn macaroons, and now Tarte Cosmetics has gone full Lisa Frank.
